Tire Rotation

Simple Service, Significant Savings

Tire rotation is one of those services that's easy to overlook because the benefits are invisible — right up until you need new tires far sooner than you expected. Regular rotation is the single most effective thing you can do to extend tire life, maintain even handling, and get the full value out of a set of tires. At Ken's Quality Auto Repair, we rotate tires on all Toyota and Lexus models, always using the correct pattern for your vehicle's drivetrain and tire configuration.

What Tire Rotation Involves

A tire rotation moves each tire to a different position on the vehicle — front to rear, left to right, or diagonally — following a specific pattern determined by the vehicle's drivetrain (front-wheel drive, rear-wheel drive, all-wheel drive) and whether the tires are directional or non-directional.

Every rotation service at Ken's includes:

  • Tire removal and reinstallation in the correct rotation pattern

  • Torque check on all lug nuts to manufacturer specification

  • Tire pressure adjustment to the vehicle's recommended PSI (not the maximum printed on the tire sidewall)

  • Tread depth measurement at each position

  • Visual inspection of tire condition — sidewall wear, cracking, bulges, or damage

  • Brake inspection at each corner while the wheels are off

How Often Should You Rotate Tires on a Toyota or Lexus?

Most Toyota and Lexus models call for tire rotation every 5,000 to 7,500 miles — conveniently aligning with oil change intervals, which makes it easy to remember. Some models with longer oil change intervals (up to 10,000 miles with full synthetic oil) may benefit from a dedicated rotation visit between oil changes.

Your owner's manual has the specific interval for your vehicle, and we're happy to help you figure out the right schedule if you're not sure.

What to Watch For Between Rotations

  • Vibration in the steering wheel or seat at highway speeds (can indicate uneven wear or out-of-balance tires)

  • Visible wear on one edge of a tire more than the other (alignment or inflation issue)

  • Thumping or cupping pattern on the tread (often a sign of suspension wear or chronic under-inflation)

  • Pulling to one side when you release the steering wheel on a flat road

If you notice any of these between rotation visits, it's worth bringing it in for an inspection — catching the cause early can prevent uneven wear from progressing further

Why Bring Your Toyota or Lexus to Ken's for Tire Rotation?

We go beyond the rotation itself. Because the wheels come off for every rotation, it's an ideal opportunity to inspect the brakes and suspension components at each corner — and we always do. Over the years, we've caught brake wear, loose ball joints, and leaking shocks during routine tire rotations before they became bigger problems.

Everything is torqued to Toyota and Lexus specifications, and tire pressure is set to your vehicle's recommended settings — not a generic number.
